In 1984, Ghostbusters rocked the movie theaters with an awesome cast, amazing special effects and a spirit of adventure and entrepreneurialism that fired up people’s imaginations like few others. The all-star cast included the likes of Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, Sigourney Weaver, Ernie Hudson and Rick Moranis, each delivering a side-splitting and hair-raising performance and capturing ghosts. For their transportation, a decrepit 1959 Cadillac Ambulance was resurrected for duty and turned into Ecto-1. The perfect size for holding all the scientific gear needed to catch the evasive afterlife and the warrior ghost hunters, Ecto-1 became one of those instantly recognizable Hollywood cars that everyone loved. The "Ectomobile," or "Ecto 1" car has become one of the most instantly recognizable movie vehicles, and a pop-culture icon, since it first appeared on screens in the 1984 film "Ghostbusters."
